‘The Lost Colony Of Roanoke’ by George Leal

Don Robeson is called on by fellow archaeologist and quirky friend, Professor Archibald Caulder, to authenticate a hand-written journal. Dated 1587, the journal, if authentic, may be the key that unlocks the oldest mystery in American history the fate of the Lost Colony of Roanoke. Soon after Don receives the journal, Archibald Caulder dies suddenly in mysterious circumstances. When the Professor s beautiful daughter Katherine shows up, Don realizes that someone else is also after the journal and will stop at nothing to get it. As Don and Katherine scramble to read the diary and unravel the mystery of the Lost Colony, a relentless force pursues them, intent on destroying the journal and anyone who stands in their way. The men chasing them are professional, well educated and heavily armed, with weapons and someone s money. But whose money is it? As the trail leads them closer to the real culprits behind the abandoned colony, the name Walter Raleigh comes up and the path seems to point directly to the throne of England itself. Pitted against merciless, ruthless hunters and unable to trust anyone, it will take all of Don s training and combat experience as a former Navy Seal to keep the journal from falling into the wrong hands and to keep him and Kathleen Caulder alive.
